Why not? If you want to change the trajectory of your career or you want a change in the role an MBA is a way to do it. You can explore a 1-year or a 2-year option — it is more important to make sure you find a program that seems right for you and will get you where you want to go. Everybody assures placements but the MBA journey is as important. If you have gathered the skills and knowledge while in the program you will be able to showcase it at the interview stage and beyond. My point is to invest the time and opportunity in learning. Do your due diligence and find the program that helps you build on your strengths and cares about your success. As the Director of the Center of Leadership, I can tell you that this is what we stand for —a personalized and customized experience which is about you. If I were you I would either work a few more years or then find a school that works for you regardless of 1 or 2-years. All the very best.

Continuous learning, un-learning, and re-learning are a reality of today’s job market. Hence, it is a good idea to go in for a regular MBA at any point in one’s career. Early on, 2 years MBA is a good idea since it imbibes you with the basics and provides the initial stepping stones for career growth. After about 3-4 years of experience, a 1 year MBA makes sense since those programmes are specifically tailored towards experienced candidates who can make the most of what the course offers in the shortest possible time. The timing is important because it is often seen that at that stage, many professionals feel the need for either a change or a leap forward. The 1-year program can provide both.
