The 2 year MBA offers a deeper dive into the theoretical aspects of management. This is relevant for a relative fresher. On the other hand, if you have some degree of work experience, you would have some perspectives already built around your technical area as well as general and softer – but equally important – aspects like working with teams, project management, leadership, change management, etc.
Ideally, a candidate with above 2-3 years of professional experience should consider the 1 year MBA over the 2 year option. This is even more so in the case of candidates who already have a post-graduate qualification in their field AND possess this level of work experience.
This level of work experience helps the candidate to assimilate theories much faster, which is the pace at which the 1 year MBA progresses, and contribute to classroom learning through shared experiences and correlation with concepts.
