The more experience you have the better it is. With more experience, you are more likely to know what you want to get out of the program And then you don’t need to do a 2-year program. A 1-year program suffices. And a prospective employer looks at you very differently after 6 years vs after 2–3 years.
But make sure you get the most out of the 1-year by choosing the right program for you. There are a few new-age 1-year programs that are out which offer ISB level quality. Check out Center of Leadership at NorthCap University and Crescent School of Business at Crescent Engg College.

You have raised a very good question. 2-3 years of experience (or perhaps ideally another 1 year more) sets you up well for a full-time 1 year MBA/PGDM. The experience will help you to relate and absorb academic concepts easily, thus making the hard work of the course a little easier and lot more meaningful.
Alternatively, you could wait a bit longer (as you asked) and go in for an Executive (part-time) MBA. Again, those programs are tailored towards more experienced folks who are preparing for leadership roles.
The choice between the two is really subjective. The main factor it depends on is your current career trajectory. If you expect good growth and great learning, it may be worthwhile to wait for a few years and opt for the Executive MBA. This way you have a respectable track record AND a solid E-MBA. Alternatively, if you feel the need for a career change now, or feel that growth or learning are stagnating, then a 1-year full-time MBA now can help provide a fresh impetus to your career.
