NEET Exam 2020
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is one of the most difficult medical entrance examinations conducted in India. This exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate (MBBS/BDS/Ayush Courses) each year. As a mandate of the Government of India, candidates are required to qualify for NEET exam to study medical courses in India and abroad.
Online Application
The exam this year will be conducted on 3rd May 2020 in a pen-and-paper-based mode in 2,546 exam centres across 155 cities of India. NTA released the 2020 application form online on 2nd December 2019. The last date for submission of the form is 31st December 3019.
Eligibility Criteria
NEET eligibility 2020 is based on the Graduate Medical Education, 1997 that was last amended in 2018. Earlier, there were upper age limit restrictions as well as restrictions on the choice of subjects and the type of school the candidate attended. Now, the upper age limit criterion has been removed but the clause of open school students not being eligible to apply remains.
NEET 2020 prospectus was released in 10 languages. The official NEET 2020 website i.e. ntaneet.nic.in was activated on 30th November 2019, while the details are yet to be updated. The admit card will be available on 27th March 2020 for candidates.
Following the end of NEET 2020 exams, candidates have the option to verify the NEET answer key issued by leading coaching centres on exam day. The results are expected to be out on 4th June 2020 online along with the final answer key and the qualifying cutoff. Qualified candidates can apply for all-India counselling conducted by MCI in June (tentative) while counselling for state admissions will take place thereafter.
