Pre-college Harvard Summer Program
This is a 2-week residential program that features noncredit courses. The program lets you explore a myriad of topics such as the sciences, philosophy, writing, public speaking and American law. It’s designed to improve critical thinking and communication skills that will stand you in good stead in both college and career.

The program comprises:
- A choice of more than 100 noncredit courses.
- On-campus housing.
- Structured days consisting of weekday class meetings and pre-college activities.
- 3 hours of classes a day and participation in college readiness or team-building events.
- Evening meals in the dining hall, homework in assigned rooms, and attending social activities.

Secondary Harvard School Program
This is a 7-week credit-based session that takes you close to college life. You can choose to enrol in one or two courses and attend workshops, visit nearby colleges, and participate in stimulating activities like music and intramural sports. The immersive program, which is designed to provide a balanced college experience, features:
- A choice of over 200 college courses.
- Transferable credits.
- A choice of on-campus living, commuting or studying online.
- Freedom to schedule days.

Detailed Information About Harvard Summer Program
Students get an opportunity to experience college life and know what to expect from college life including academics and other fun activities. They get to focus on their interest areas by opting for specific courses along with these specific courses they also get an option of opting for noncredit courses for an overall enriching experience.
During this program, the students get to live in the “undergrad house” close to Harvard summer program and additionally appreciate dinners in one of Harvard’s feasting corridors, which are a short stroll from Harvard Yard and give numerous alternatives to an assortment of dietary needs.
To encourage interactive learning, class sizes are small and typically range from 12 to 18 students. In this setting, students can practice the art of healthy debate, learning to communicate clearly and diplomatically on complex topics that concern the world. You’ll tackle challenging problem sets, delve into complex articles, and deliver presentations on your own research, all under the guidance of Harvard-affiliated instructors for a true Ivy League experience.
Although courses do not have letter grades, they are rigorous. Students come from all over the world for Harvard summer program, which also allows them to spend time with people from all walks of life and exchange experiences and ideas which opens doors to learning beyond academia and broadens the perspective for a wider worldview.
The program also offers workshops on various topics apart from the other co-curricular activities; the workshops are on topics like – behavioural psychology, filing patents, gender studies, politics etc.
It also gives students a chance to enhance their college applications as at the end of this program students get feedback in form of a ‘Harvard Transcript’ give a grade of ‘AR’ or ‘NM’ (“requirements met” or “requirements not met”).
The students get a chance to choose from more than 30 courses for each session and if more courses interest students they can even apply for multiple sessions.
Post High school this program can give students a closer look at subjects and topics that interest them to help them weigh their interest areas and decide if this is what they are looking for and exposure to new subjects and courses can create interest in new areas and help them make a more informed decision.

The Summer School Harvard ID gives students access to Computer accounts and facilities, Museums and Libraries. These facilities help students get through their summer studies as it provides them with all the study material that they might need during the course of this program, they get access to books, printers, computer systems and a beautiful study area. There is also an ‘Ask a librarian’ service which makes it all the easier for students to get help on any kind of material they need.
Along with Libraries, the Museums at Harvard summer program make the experience better as the students get to explore several exhibits in the art, science and cultural museums. All the major museums are accessible for free.
The Harvard Summer School courses ensure the safety and security of all students as it works closely with the Harvard University Police Department. Any kind of suspicious activity on campus can be reported through blue light phones that are available at different outdoor locations throughout the campus. The blue light phones help the dispatcher track the location of students and dispatch police or another form of security if required.
The campus makes sure that the experience is wholesome and every student’s requirements and interests are kept in consideration, though the campus has no religious affiliations there are various worship options available on campus from a church to several websites.
The program is socially and intellectually engaging and expects students to be completely immersed as along with the classes there are varies activities to keep them occupied including homework. Though ideally, the students should attend as many programs as they can they need to attend at least two events from social events, trips and recreation, academic exploration and college readiness.
To promote diversity we try to be inclusive and even students who are homeschooled are welcomed, though for adults a letter of recommendation or a letter from counsellor along with writing samples are required as a part of the application.
There is a certain code of conduct and policies that are to be followed and the students are requested to read the Student Handbook or read the policies on the website. The program prohibits the consumption of drugs and alcohol to make sure the environment is conducive for learning, creativity and growth.
